Characteristics Of Institution

Founded in 1969, Skyline College is one of three public coeducational, two-year community-based colleges in the San Mateo County Community College District. Skyline College awards the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree, and vocational certificates, in programs, including business, automotive technology, health science, education, liberal arts and sciences, and telecommunications. Emphasis is placed on college/university transfer programs and professional advancement. All Skyline College students benefit from a variety of supportive services, including academic advising, personal and career counseling, and childcare. Skyline College’s International Student Program offers services and support of specific importance to international students and provides dedicated International Student Advisors who assist each student with academic and personal issues. The college sponsors an active student government and both academic and non-academic organizations, clubs, activities, and student publications. Intercollegiate and intramural athletics are available for both men and women students. The 111-acre site, just west of Skyline Boulevard in San Bruno, is conveniently available to residents of South San Francisco, Daly City, San Bruno, Pacifica, and other North County communities. Skyline College campus houses modern and comfortable classrooms, administrative offices, laboratories, workshops, studios, student services, and physical education facilities. The campus is within close proximity of both mountains and beaches giving students access to many cultural, social and recreational activities.

 

Calendar
The College schedules a Fall Semester (mid-August through mid-December); Spring Semester (mid-January through mid-May) and Summer session (June through mid-August).
