| What is Orientation? |
| Orientation is your time to get to know the college and ask questions of a counselor about Skyline, your classes, and our career goals. It is for new students who have been away from Skyline for a while. Orientation is the first step in the enrollment process and is essential to your success. |
| |
| Am I required to do the Orientation? |
You are required to participate in Orientation if you are:
- Obtaining a 2-year degree (A.A./A.S.) or vocational certificate, or
- Transferring to a four-year university, or
- Undecided on a major or educations goal, or
- Applying for financial aid
- Limited in your English proficiency
|
| |
|
Orientation is not required, but highly recommended if you are:
- Taking classes for personal enrichment, or
- Employed and taking classes related to your job, or
- Attending another college and taking classes to meet requirements of that college.

| How is it offered? |
We recommend you attend an on-campus Orientation.
A counselor will be present to answer your questions and to provide you with information about registration, counseling and student services, as well as important advice that will help you to get off to a good academic start. We offer Orientations for students of all English language skill levels. |
| We also offer online Orientation for students who cannot come to campus, although we highly recommend you schedule and In-person Orientation. The online Orientation is not recommended for students with limited English proficiency. |
